Joseph, A Father’s Struggle
“Joseph, a Father’s Struggle” This biblical drama is not just for the Christmas season. If you are a Christian, then every day should be Christmas and a reminder of God’s precious gift to the whole world – His Son Jesus!
“Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name of Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew1:20,21
Excuse me? Holy Spirit? Jesus? Saving people from their sins? An ordinary reaction of any ordinary man placed in an extraordinary situation. Which is exactly what God chose for a simple and poor carpenter from Nazareth named Joseph. This lighthearted drama is a look into the man who would eventually be remembered as the earthly father of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, Joseph has over time become the forgotten man of Christmas. But why? Here is a man specifically chosen by Almighty God to be the protector of His only begotten Son. Rather than forgotten, Joseph should be remembered. His life should be an example of faith, obedience and trust to all.
Beginning in Nazareth Joseph takes the audience on his journey of love, for both his new wife and the unborn child who should be arriving at any time. His destination ends in the little town of Bethlehem, the same town the prophets foretold would be the birth of the Christ. Will Joseph be ready for the arrival of this boy, or better yet, ready for the life that lies ahead?
Experience the Christmas story like it’s never been told!
