Happy Resurrection Day!
Happy Resurrection Day!
Resurrection sounds much more appropriate than Easter. Actually, for Christ lovers, Resurrection Day is every day! Act 4 Him just wanted to take a moment and wish all of you and your loved ones the best Resurrection Day yet. How? We have a couple ideas that might help.
First, spend some alone time with your Lord Jesus and THANK HIM, THANK HIM, THANK HIM! Remember that He had a choice when He went to the Cross, and the choice He made was for you. He knew there was no other way to save you from the slavery of sin. Somebody needed to pay your debt in order for you to be FREE. He wanted to be that somebody, He chose to be that somebody. Just to prove how much He loves you. The only thing He wants in return is to love Him back!
Second, imagine yourself in the sandals of one of the disciples and experience the events that led to the Cross. The Passover meal and the introduction of what we call communion. What does He mean that His body is bread and His blood is wine? How can I possibly eat and drink it in remembrance of Him? Then imagine Gethsemane as Jesus weeps and weeps in agonizing sorrow the events that were coming His way. Was He scard of the Cross, the pain and suffering? Of course not, He was prepared for this moment. This was an act of love. The sorrow He was experiencing was the sorrow of experiencing sin and separation from His Father for the first time. Hebrews tells us that God poured out the sins of the world on Jesus. The thought of not being one with the Father as literally killing Him. Next watch the injustice at the trials, 6 of them in less than 5 hours! Each one fiding Jesus GUILTY! Hear the crowd chanting CRUCIFY! CRUCIFY! CRUCIFY! You can’t stop it, they’e going to kill your Jesus. Close your eyes and hear the spikes being driven into His wrists and feet. But you hear a faint cry, it is the Lord! “Father, forgive them for they not know what they do!” My goodness, He’s forgiving them. They’re killing Him, He’s forgiving them. The watch the unexplainable happen at 3:00PM as Jesus lets out His last breath and dies. You heard Him cry out the words “It….is….finished!” Finished was right, finished as dead. As the boulder is being rolled in front of the tomb, you ask yourself why? How? What happened? You can’t eat or sleep for 3 days…..until…..until….”Peace be with you!” The blood was gone, the crown of thorns was gone, the spikes were gone. But He was there, standing right in front of you. Arms spread wide and smiling. Tears fill your eyes and when you lower your head in almost disbelief you notice the holes in His wrist and feet. You look up. “It’s you. Jesus, you’re alive!” And you would be right, He was alive. He IS alive!
We hope this helps you make your Resurrection Day the best yet. You see, we find when the Word becomes real to us and we place ourselves in that certain situation, we appreciate and understand it more. As far as this story is concerned, we tend to fall more in love with Jesus when we remind ourselves what He really did for us. We remind ourselves that Jesus didn’t have to do this, He wanted to do this. Our suggestion is that you should do the same.
Happy Resurrection Day Jesus!
